How are you reaching your customers?
I’ve had to accept snail mail is not the most efficient way to communicate despite my love for pen and paper, just like I’ve moved on from print ads and direct mail pieces to reach potential customers. Do you still do these? Have you realized most of your customers are online?
My company’s website went live in early 2000; our social media presence began a decade later. Then I weaned off print ads, using them for special events like Valentine’s, Mother’s day & Christmas. I found better results with the same ads posted on our social networks and blasted to my email list, eventually canceling all print ad contracts. I share this journey with you to help you recall your steps or to lead you on the path to digital freedom.
MUST HAVE TECHNOLOGY
I was scared to switch from my appointment book to computer software in the late 90s. If you aren’t using software, I recommend MEEVO. They’ve won the best salon software for the past five years. A few highlights: the software automatically confirms appointments 48 hours in advance via email and text, which the customer chooses. We send our weekly email pieces to everyone or by the segment of our choice.
While I haven’t explored digital ads, I have added apple pay. If we’re going to keep our business relevant, we must keep up with more than style trends. I would love to connect and hear how you reach your customers.
